  • Base price- They need to submit their base price before participating in auction. It is the price at which there bidding will start. Like base price is 50 lac then the minimum bidding amount will be 50 lakh for the player. 
  • Fitness- Player needs to complete the fitness test, for being selected by teams and play IPL so fitness is also must for auction. 

Franchise interest- Then the different franchises will look for the players before the auction they want to bid for. They discuss with team and in this process the the franchises look for past records, Games of the players and see their performance and skill. After, checking all this They create a pool of players who they want to play for their team and need for bidding.


 Auction pool creation- After this, on the basis of registrations made by the players and the interest of franchise, a final list of players is created. Who will be in auction for bidding. This includes a lot of different players, such as capped and handicapped players. It also include people players from another countries.


 Auction event- In an auction, teams are provided a specific budget for bidding for the players. From that specific budget, they make bids on different players they want to buy for their teams. This bidding continues only till one team is left bidding. Then the player is sold to that team. In this auction, the players are announced 1 by 1. And the franchise owners? Place their bets. 


Squad Preparation- After this auction process. The squad is prepared for all the teams in which they include the players which they have brought through bidding. There is a limit  in having a certain number of overseas player in it. There is a limit or minimum and the maximum number of players a team can have in their squad.
