in Group A, Lucknow Super Joints, we'll have two matches each against MI, KKR, RR and DC which are in the same group which will sum up to 8 matches, then in group 2, they will have 1 match with four teams like CSK, RCB, PK, GT so 4 more matches and it will sum up to 8+4 = 12 and with one remaining team of group 2 like SRH they will have two matches so it will be 14.

General election clash- The initial schedule which was prepared was by BCCI was on. 22 Feb 2024. They announced IPL will start from February 22. And 21 matches will be played in 10 cities. But, that was drawn without considering the polling dates of Lok Sabha election. Which is going to be across India. So, due to that purpose they have changed the schedule and adjust accordingly to Election dates.
